Elderly Housing

Welcome to UCC US Bank Village

The UCC US Bank Village is designed to meet the housing needs of low-income elderly from the near south side community. The facility consists of 19 one-bedroom units for residents and one two-bedroom unit for an apartment manager.

The common areas and all entryways in the facility are wheelchair accessible. The building provides barrier-free hallways with handrails for those with mobility difficulties. All units are fully accessible for people with mobility difficulties and are designed with roll-in showers rather than bathtubs, wheelchair leg-room under sinks, adjustable shelving heights, adjustable showers, and ample wheelchair-turning radiuses in each room.

The apartment manager is available 24 hours a day to address resident concerns. A community room and kitchen is available to promote socialization among residents during holiday events, birthday celebrations, or other planned activities.

Conveniently located on the United Community Center campus, the UCC US Bank Village has enabled residents to participate in UCC elderly programs.

To apply for residency, please call Agnes Rodriguez at (414) 384-3100 Ex. 4734.

Olga Village

Built on UCC’s campus in conjunction with the Housing Authority of the City of Milwaukee (HACM), Olga Village is a landmark housing community dedicated to providing environmentally sustainable and affordable living options for Milwaukee's seniors. The new complex provides 37 affordable apartments, and residents have access to the services of UCC's older-adult programs, including a senior meal program, arts and crafts, music, cultural arts, transportation, and social, recreational, and educational services.

Olga Village stands next to the UCC-US Bank Village, which provides low-income housing to seniors from the near south side community. Olga Village was a 2011 finalist for the State Farm Insurance Building Block Award honored by LISC Milwaukee at the 12th Annual Milwaukee Awards for Neighborhood Development Innovation (MANDI) sponsored by US Bank.

The building’s design incorporates several “green” features, including ground-source heat pumps for heating and cooling, a green roof, energy-efficient windows and doors, earth-friendly construction materials, and a storm water management system. In addition, solar power is slated to be incorporated to further enhance the building's environmentally sustainable design. Olga Village's green roof was constructed with the support of the Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District's (MMSD) Green Roof Initiative Grant.
